o Your secret is your captive.

* السكوت علامة الرضا
o Silence is the sign of approval.

* ضربني وبكى وسبقني واشتكى
o He beat me and cried, and went before me to complain.

* الطيور على أشكالها تقع
o Birds of a feather flock together

* عصفور في اليد خير من عشرة على الشجرة
o A bird in the hand is better than ten on a tree

* أَحْسِنْ إلي الناس تستعبدقلوبهم
o Do good to people in order to enslave their hearts.

* إذا أردت أنتطاع فأمر بما يستطاع
o If you wanted obedience command with what is possible.

* إذا أنت أكرمت الكريم ملكته وإن أنت أكرمت اللئيم تمردا
o Be generous to a generous person and you'd win him, be generous to a mean person and he'd rebel on you.

* إذا زل العالِمُ زل بزلته عالَمٌ
o The mistake of the scientist leads to mistakes by many people. (or to bad effects in general)

* إذا سمعت الرجل يقول فيك من الخير ما ليس فيك فلا تأمن أن يقولفيك من الشر ما ليس فيك
o If you hear a person talking good about things that aren't in you, don't be sure that he wouldn't also say bad things about things that aren't in you.

* إذا كنت تدري فتلك مصيبة وإن كنت لا تدري فالمصيبةأعظم
o If you know then it's a disaster, and if you don't know then it's a greater disaster. (Like: if a leader knows or doesn't know about the corruption in his group)

o Literal meaning: Give the dough to baker even if he eats half of it.

* أعلمه الرماية كليوم فلما أشتد ساعِدُهُ رماني
o I taught him archery everyday, and when he got good at it he throw an arrow at me.

* أقلل طعامك تجد منامك
o Eat less food to find more sleep.

* إلى حتفي مَشَتْ قدمي
o My feet took me to my death.

o a mother is a school, preparing her is like preparing a good nation

o Meaning: Watch out what you are doing with your tounge

o In haste there is regret and in taking time there is peace/safety

* التجارب ليست لها نهاية والمرء منها في زيادة
o Exeriences/Experimenting has no end and one always gains from them

* تجريالرياح بما لا تشتهي السفن
o Winds blow counter to what ships desire.

* التكبر على المتكبر تواضع
o Arrogance over the arrogant is modesty.

* الوقتكالسيف إن لم تقطعه قطعك
o Time is like a sword. If you did not cut it, it will cut you

* يخلق من الشبه أربعين
o God creates 40 people with the same looks.

* يضحك كثيرا من يضحك أخيرا
o He laughs most he who laughs last.

* قلوبهم معك و سيوفهم عليك
* A promise is a cloud; fulfillment is rain; and the best promise is that which has been proved by rain

* صدقما ترى ولا تصدق كل ما تسمع
Believe what you see and not all you hear.

* أن تأتي متأخرا أفضل من أن لا تأتي
Better late than never

*ان كان بيتك من زجاج فلا ترم الناس بالحجارة
